ODD COUPLE, THE - THE COMPLETE SERIES (ABC 1970-75) Tony Randall, Jack Klugman, Al Molinaro, Penny Marshall
This classic comedy series provides plenty of laughs and plenty of trouble when Felix Unger (Tony Randall) after being kicked out by his wife shows up at the door of his childhood friend Oscar Madison (Jack Klugman). The two unlikely friends agree to share Oscar’s Manhattan apartment and situations arise from the fact that both men have two totally different lifestyles (Oscar – slovenly and easygoing / Felix – neat and uptight), which inevitably lead to conflicts and laughs.
Originally broadcast on the ABC network from September 24, 1970 to March 7, 1975. This series was the first of several sitcoms developed by Garry Marshall for Paramount Television. The show is based on the 1965 play of the same name, which was written by Neil Simon, as well as on the play's 1968 film adaptation.
Two major supporting characters were Murray the Cop (Al Molinaro, “Happy Days”) and Myrna Turner, Oscar's secretary (Penny Marshall, “Laverne & Shirley”).
