The Lucie Arnaz Show is a rare, short-lived sitcom inspired by the acclaimed British series Agony. In this American adaptation, Lucie Arnaz stars as Dr. Jane Lucas, a 31-year-old Manhattan psychologist who dispenses thoughtful (and often humorous) advice to callers on her daily radio call-in program, WPLE-AM — affectionately known as “Advice Radio 88.”

Billed as “Your spot for music and mental health in the afternoon,” The Love and Lucas Show blends Dr. Lucas’s earnest psychological insights with the offbeat comedy of disc jockey Larry Love (Todd Waring) and his unseen canine sidekick, Tippy.

Off the airwaves, Jane’s life is just as hectic. She balances a private psychology practice, freelance writing, and a daily advice column for the Daily Mirror titled “Dear Jane,” all while navigating her own unresolved personal dilemmas.

The supporting cast includes Tony Roberts as station manager Jim Gordon, Lee Bryant as Jane’s sister Jill, Karen Jablons-Alexander as Loretta, Richard Zavaglia as Sam, and Douglas Seale as the eccentric Mr. Beverly.
