Considered to be one of television's classics, "The Dick Van Dyke Show" centers on the personal and professional life of Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke), a writer on the fictional Alan Brady Show. He's happily married to former dancer Laura (Mary Tyler Moore), and they have a young son, Ritchie (Larry Mathews). The plots generally revolve around problems at work -- where Rob gets into various comedic jams with fellow writers Buddy Sorrell (Morey Amsterdam), Sally Rogers (Rose Marie) and producer Mel Cooley (Richard Deacon) -- or at home with their neighbors and best friends Jerry and Millie Helper (Jerry Paris, Ann Morgan Guilbert).
The show was created by Carl Reiner and produced by Reiner with Bill Persky and Sam Denoff. The series won 15 Emmy Awards during its five season run. This 20-disc set features all 158 episodes and includes the pilot episode “Head of the Family” which aired on CBS on July 19, 1960. (B&W, Quality: 10)
