Mark Stevens stars as hardboiled private detective Bradford Galt, a tough but determined gumshoe who relocates to New York City after serving two years in prison on a manslaughter charge. Lucille Ball co-stars as Galt's devoted and adoring secretary, Kathleen Stewart, whose loyalty and affection for her boss prove invaluable as he attempts to clear his name. Clifton Webb delivers a memorable performance as an oily and sophisticated art collector whose involvement makes Galt's increasingly dangerous predicament even more complicated.
