The Atomic City is a 1952 thriller directed by Jerry Hopper and starring Gene Barry (later known for the starring role in Bat Masterson) and Lydia Clark.
The story takes place at Los Alamos, New Mexico, where nuclear physicist Frank Addison (Barry) lives and works. Terrorists kidnap his son Tommy (Lee Aaker) and demands that the scientist turns over the top secret formula for the H-bomb.
The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing (Story and Screenplay), Sydney Boehm being the nominee.
