MUDDLING THROUGH (CBS 1994) RARE JENNIFER ANISTON SERIES
After serving two years in jail for shooting her cheating husband Sonny Drego (D. David Morin) in his behind, parolee Connie Drego (Stephanie Hodge) returns home to her family's Oasis roadside inn and to more than a few surprises, such as discovering that her 18-year-old daughter, Madeline (Jennifer Anniston), has married Duane Cooper (Scott Waara), the naive state trooper who arrested her.
Desperately trying to pick up the pieces of her life, Connie knows that is not going to be easy. Madeline is managing the motel and coffee shop, Daughter Kerri (Aimee Brooks) is now well into puberty, Sonny, whom she describes as “dirt with a driver’s license,” still lives in one of the cabins.
Note: Jennifer Aniston had already shot 10 episodes of this sitcom when she was cast to play Rachel Green in the NBC series Friends. The show aired its final episode on September 14, 1994. A week later, Friends debut on September 22, 1994. If CBS had been picked up the Muddling Through for additional episodes, Aniston would have contractually had to leave Friends halfway through the show’s first season. Friends became a huge hit and aired for ten years.
