BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (ABC 1978-79)
There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive far, far away, amongst the stars."
In the seventh millennium, AD, in the deepest reaches of space, the fight to save all human life from extinction has begun in this science-fiction adventure that launched the Battlestar Galactica phenomenon, now presented digitally remastered, complete, and uncut!
Hopeful for lasting peace following centuries of intense warfare, the Twelve Colonies gather to sign a treaty with their dreaded enemies, the Cylons. But after an act of treachery on the eve of the ceremony, the Cylons launch a devastating surprise attack, destroying the Colonies' home planets and most of their military strength.
The survivors of this attack, led by Commander Adama (Lorne Greene, “Bonanza”), of the only remaining warship, the battlestar Galactica, set off across space on search for a legendary thirteenth colony where they can seek refuge amongst their brethren; a thirteenth colony known to their scriptures as Earth.
The Cylons, with the help of the equally evil Count Baltar (John Colicos) follow the Galactica in hot pursuit to kill the remaining humans, leaving Adama and his crew, Col. Tigh (Terry Carter), Capt. Apollo (Richard Hatch “The Streets of San Fransico”) Lt. Starbuck (Dirk Benedict, “The A-Team”) Lt. Boomer (Herbert Jefferson, Jr.) and Athena (Maren Jenson) to defend themselves against their attacks.
