A&E BIOGRAPHY: JAMES DEAN - OUTSIDE THE LINES (A&E 10/14/02) James Dean

$ 12.95

His plight against authority sparked a revolution of revolt for the youth of 1950s America and forever cemented his reputation as the ultimate teenage. rebel.

James Byron Dean is perhaps best known for his explosive roles in Hollywood classics East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause, and Giant; however, it is little known that these are the only three movies in which the young actor ever had a starring role. Bursting with potential and heralded for his sex appeal, Dean’s rapid rise to fame was the perfect metaphor for his all-too-brief life. His promising career, which tragically ended with the infamous 1955 car crash, was marked by a rocky relationship with fame and a desire to create his own style of acting.

Recollections of family, friends, and fellow actors highlight this intimate portrait of one of the great icons of American cinema.
