MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, THE (SYN 8/1/66) Merv Griffin, Jerry Lewis, Richard Pryor, The Everly Brothers, Dagmar, Charlie Callas

$ 12.95

Step back into a golden night of mid-‘60s television with this classic episode of The Merv Griffin Show, originally aired August 1, 1966. Packed with star power, music, and laughs, this unforgettable broadcast features legendary duo The Everly Brothers performing their signature hit Bye, Bye Love, while rising comic Richard Pryor delivers an early stand-up that hints at the brilliance to come.

Screen legend Jerry Lewis brings his trademark chaos and charm to the program, joining Merv for a lively and unpredictable conversation, along with an audience Q and A.

Glamorous 1950s icon Dagmar adds a touch of song and some vintage va-va-voom, and the wildly animated Charlie Callas, in his second appearance on the show, rounds out the lineup with his one-of-a-kind, side-splitting comedy.

One note, actor/singer Monti Rock III was slated to appear on this episode (as seen in the opening credits), but the antics of the hour bumped him from appearing.

A time capsule of television at its most spontaneous and entertaining, this episode is a must-have for fans of classic variety programming.
