Lionel Carpenter (Crystal) is an ordinary young man who has never had sex. His cousin sets him up with a one-night stand, and not long after this he finds himself to be the world's first pregnant man.

Soon he goes from unknown to celebrity when word gets out that doctors discover he's going to have a child and everyone's trying to cash in on his act - including the President (George Gobel) and the First Lady (Fannie Flagg).

But will his fiancee (Joan Prather) and his mother (Doris Roberts) EVER recover from the shock?
