HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE - THE COMPLETE SERIES (1957-1957) VERY RARE!!! HARD TO FIND!!! Barbara Eden, Merry Anders, Lori Nelson, Lisa Gaye
Based on the smash-hit 1953 film!
One of the very first television sitcoms adapted from a major motion picture, How to Marry a Millionaire is a sparkling, light-hearted comedy that follows the romantic misadventures of three young single women living in a luxurious New York penthouse apartment—rented on a shoestring—with one shared dream: landing a wealthy husband!
Savvy and stylish Mike McCall (Merry Anders) works for a Wall Street stockbroker, while practical Greta Hanson (Lori Nelson) serves as a hostess on Go for Broke, a popular quiz show aired on the fictional United Telecasters network. Rounding out the trio is sweet, nearsighted model Loco Jones (Barbara Eden, in one of her earliest TV roles before I Dream of Jeannie), whose romantic optimism is matched only by her knack for hilarious blunders—like confusing an elevator button with a fire alarm or misreading the girls’ $10.38 bank balance as a thousand dollars!
Whether sweet-talking shopkeepers into extending their credit or subletting their apartment to jazz musicians while they're out, the girls always find creative ways to stay afloat. And when millionaires do enter the picture—as they often do—the path to riches is reliably sidetracked by comic misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and well-meaning schemes gone awry.
The series ran for 52 delightful episodes across two seasons. In Season Two, Lori Nelson departed the show and was replaced by Lisa Gaye as Gwen Kirby, a poised and ambitious young woman who joins the quest for love and luxury.
Charming, fast-paced, and dripping with 1950s style, How to Marry a Millionaire is a delightful time capsule of mid-century television. A must-have for fans of classic sitcoms, screwball comedy, and the golden age of Hollywood-inspired television.
