This ABC drama series featured Mike Longstreet (James Franciscus), a skilled insurance investigator for the Great Pacific Casualty Insurance Company in New Orleans.

After his wife Ingrid (Jeannette Nolan) is killed and he is blinded by a mysterious explosion in the courtyard of his home, Longstreet enters the Oakhurst Clinic, a rehabilitation center for the blind. With the assistance of Dr Dan Stockton (John McIntire) he improves his remaining senses, learns braille and returns to his old job, determined to track down the bombers (who turned out to be members of a jewel gang who wanted to eliminate Mike before their next caper).

Longstreet’s strong determination and resolve adds to his refusal to quit the business. Together with the help of his white German Shepherd seeing-eye dog Pax, assistant Nikki Bell (Marlyn Mason), his boss and friend Duke Paige (Peter Mark Richman) along with his smarts, a special cane, and self-defense instruction from martial arts teacher Li Tsung (Bruce Lee), Mike continues to investigate thefts, kidnappings and murders throughout the city.

Airing for only one season in 1971-1972, the series was launched as an ABC Movie of the Week and brought to television by Oscar winner Stirling Silliphant (In the Heat of the Night). In 1971, the series earned an Emmy award for outstanding achievement in film editing for entertainment programming - for a special or feature length program made for television.

This 12-DVD set contains all 23 episodes, plus the pilot film.

Note: for Bruce Lee fans there is a separate 2-disc set available - Longstreet: The Bruce Lee Episodes - with the four episodes that featured Lee’s character Li Tsung.
