GETTING TOGETHER - BOBBY SHERMAN SITCOM 3 EPISODE COLLECTION - RARE!!! (ABC 1971-72)
$ 9.95
Getting Together was a short-lived sitcom that aired on the ABC television network during the 1971-72 season. The series starred Bobby Sherman and Wes Stern as aspiring songwriters Bobby Conway and Lionel Poindexter. Bobby composed the music while Lionel, who was tone deaf, penned the lyrics. The two lived in an antique store with Bobby’s younger sister Jenny (played by Susan Neher). Their landlady, Rita Simon, was played by Pat Carroll. Jack Burns played Rita’s boyfriend Rudy Colcheck, a police officer. To help pay the rent, Bobby worked at a recording studio.
The pilot for the series had aired the previous spring as the first-season finale episode of The Partridge Family in which Lionel and Bobby were introduced to each other by the Partridges.
This very rare disc contains only three episodes:
The Partridge Family pilot "A Knight in Shining Armor" – March 19, 1971 - The Partridges meet Bobby Conway, a composer who plays beautiful music and who is looking for a lyricist. Danny suggests that they introduce him to Lionel Poindexter, whose poetry could provide excellent lyrics for Bobby's music. But Lionel's many eccentricities may drive Bobby away instead.
"Memories Are Made of This" - December 4, 1971 - Because they need money to rent tuxedos, Bobby and Lionel enroll as human guinea pigs in a strange university experiment. Song: "Eating and Sleeping". Guest star: Severn Darden. (Note: This episode was filmed in color but this print is in black and white. Quality is rough, but watchable.)
"Blue Christmas" - December 18, 1971 - Bobby's plans to give Jenny an old-fashioned Christmas go awry. Song: "Song of Joy".
