One of the Boys is a short-lived but memorable sitcom starring screen legend Mickey Rooney, created by the hit comedy team of Bernie Orenstein and Saul Turteltaub. This hard-to-find series is presented here with all 13 episodes, transferred in HD studio quality.

Rooney stars as Oliver Nugent, a spry and sharp-witted senior citizen who decides life in a nursing home isn’t for him. Along with his best friend Bernard Solomon (Scatman Crothers), Oliver moves into a New Jersey apartment shared by his college-aged grandson Adam Shields (Dana Carvey), a student at Sheffield College, and Adam’s roommate Jonathan Burns (Nathan Lane).

The generational clash fuels the comedy as Oliver and Bernard adjust to campus-adjacent living, while Adam juggles school, his relationship with girlfriend Jane (Meg Ryan), and the chaos created by his grandfather’s larger-than-life personality. Complicating matters further is their landlady, Mrs. Green (Francine Beers), who finds Oliver more than a little charming.

The series is also notable for its impressive lineup of guest stars, including Wendie Malick, Cleavon Little, Barney Martin, Olympia Dukakis, Rosemary Prinz, and Dick Latessa.
