Theatrical sparks flew when acclaimed Eugene O'Neill interpreters Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst joined forces in the celebrated 1973 Broadway revival of A Moon for the Misbegotten, O'Neill's tender, semi-autobiographical masterpiece.

Under the inspired direction of José Quintero, the production transformed O'Neill's long-neglected 1947 drama into a widely recognized modern classic.

In a towering, emotionally charged performance, Jason Robards portrays James "Jamie" Tyrone Jr., the cynical, self-loathing alcoholic actor inspired by O'Neill's older brother. The majestic Colleen Dewhurst stars as Josie Hogan, the earthy, strong-willed daughter of a shrewd Irish tenant farmer, Phil Hogan (Ed Flanders). Over the course of one unforgettable night, Jamie and Josie share deeply personal confessions of guilt, regret, compassion, and ultimately, redemption.

This landmark production earned Tony Awards for both Colleen Dewhurst and Ed Flanders, and remains one of the definitive interpretations of Eugene O'Neill's final great play.
