Callie (Lindsay Wagner), and unwed teenage mother is forced to give up her son at birth. With an ache in her heart and $2000 in her pocket, she journeys to Dallas to start a new life. Eventually guilt consumes her and the search for her lost son turns into an obsession. A wealthy newspaper baron (Dabney Coleman) sweeps Callie off her feet and the two are married. Both are extremely happy at the news of her pregnancy. Unfortunately, she loses the baby and her fertility. Now Callie is even more determined to find the son she never knew.
