"Long Way Home" comprises the first two episodes of the heartwarming NBC family drama The Family Holvak, which premiered in the fall of 1975.

During the Great Depression, Reverend Tom Holvak (Glenn Ford) struggles to provide for his family in the Deep South. Together with his wife, Elizabeth (Julie Harris), teenage son Ramey (Lance Kerwin), and young daughter Julie Mae (Elizabeth Cheshire), he faces hardship and uncertainty—sometimes with the family’s love for one another as their only defense.

When Reverend Holvak opens his home to a charming vagabond (David Carradine), only Ramey realizes that their mysterious guest is actually an escaped convict. Matters become even more dangerous when the fugitive plans another crime—and makes it clear that he cannot afford to leave any witnesses behind.

"Long Way Home" was originally televised on NBC in two parts on September 7 and September 14, 1975.
